Gabe Kling WQS Update

10/07/08

Gabe is currently in Brazil competing in the Rio Surf Pro 6 Star presented by Oakley. He is seeded in the Round of 96 and is guaranteed at least 563 points but really needs at least 700 points to improve his WQS ranking.

After Brazil, Gabe is heading straight to the Canaries to compete in the La Santa Surf Pro 6 Star Prime. This will be a great opportunity for Gabe to increase his WQS ranking because of his history of solid results in the Canaries and the fact that it is a 6 Star Prime, meaning there are more points up in the air.

Gabe will then be making the relatively short flight from the Canaries to Portugal in order to compete in the Estoril Coast Pro 6 Star. This will be another great opportunity for Gabe to gain ground in the WQS rankings because many of the top seeded surfers will be in Brazil for the 6 Star that is taking place at the same time.

Here's what Gabe had to say about his 2008 WQS season, "So far my season has been pretty up and down but I am still in the hunt and there are plenty of big comps left [3x 6 Star Primes, 2x 6 Stars] and these next few weeks are going to be big. Everyone is really close and there is plenty of room to jump up in the 'QS rankings. I am really just hoping to get some good results and some fun waves."

Keep checking back for continuous coverage of the 2008 WQS.
