This is the second installment of the Board of the Month feature. Steve once again choose something a little funky. Do not let the picture fool you this board is no standard shortboard.
Currently nameless, this new model that Steve has been working on with Sea Bass and other team guys(unofficially) looks like a standard shortboard from afar but up close it is something else all together. Features a wide, full outline, single-to-deep double-to-flat concave, and a Semi-Boxy rail.
Bass normally rides a 6'1" x 18 1/4" x 2 3/16" SeaGull Model and he is riding this new model 5'9" x 19" x 2 3/16".

The Board of the Month is a new feature to the SB Surfboards website. At the end of every month Steve will go through all the custom orders for that month and decide what he thinks is the coolest/nicest board he shaped that month. Most of the time the boards will be slightly unusual or have something that makes them stand out.
For December, Steve couldn't help but pick a custom White Rabbit shaped for long time SB Surfboards customer Makoto Isa. Makoto has been ordering surfboards for years and here is his latest surfboard. It is a 5'5" x 19 1/2" x 1 5/8" White Rabbit with a Diamond tail. The deck features a deck concave with tail kick and rail channels. The bottom features a slight single to a four channel. The fin system is a 5-Fin FCS convertible.
Here is what Steve had to say about the board, "I chose this surfboard for the first Board of the Month because it was such a challenge for me to shape. It pretty much has all the 'bells and whistles'. I spent a lot of time on this board in the shaping room and I am very stoked on how it came out!"

SB Surfboards premiere team rider Sebastian Zietz heads off to Japan today. During his stay, he will be doing a promotional surf trip with Bewet Wetsuits. Everyone here is stoked about Bass's new sponsorship with Bewet. Could lead to some good coop marketing down the line.

So everyone here at SB Surfboards is working, minding their own business when we just hear this loud crashing noise. We run out to the alley and a car had driven off the side embankment, nose dived, spun around and got pinned up against the building next to us. Luckily the guy driving was alright!

Alana's recent trip to Mexico has earned her some well deserved respect from her fellow female pro surfers. Megan Abubo was absolutely blown away by Alana's surfing. Here's a link to the blog:

Kauai super grom Kyle Galtes just placed 2nd at the Rip Curl Grom Search in Huntington Beach. He was edged out by Taylor Thorne in the final but this is still a solid result for Kyle. Look for more big results from Kyle at Nationals and throughout the rest of the year.
